I've been noticing that my aunt is a little sensitive about the issue of homosexuality, which made me wonder whether one or both of my cousins are gay. What happened tonight has pretty much laid any lingering questions to rest. Somebody is definitely gay in this house when my aunt is ready to go to blows over the matter.
I'll rewind a little bit and tell you what transpired. My aunt's two stepdaughters came over as they normally do to watch the NBA Finals. This year it's the Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers. So far they are 2 and 2, so the anticipation was high for fans of the game. Well, my uncle normally lets the girls watch on the massive high definition television in his bedroom. He'll just go upstairs on his computer since he is not a big fan of basketball. Tonight was different. His son and daughter were blocking the TV by watching their show instead, which left his other daughters wondering what the deal was. When Lisa asked my aunt about the TV, she let it rip! She told her exactly how she felt about bias comments against gays. It was clearly personal for her. We know she's not gay and her perverted husband might be a total bisexual freak but it's not something my aunt would take a stand for. So we have to be talking about her kids - Kim and Manny. One or both of them are gay - must be. Otherwise, why would she get so angry over the issue. No, she was ready to go to blows.
Really, it's not that big a deal. So many have chosen that path for their lives that it really would not be much of a shock. But it's a private matter that they are making less private with their vocal opinions and outbursts. If you're that willing to defend it, you should be equally ok with claiming it but who am I to say? It's just quite a situation to witness. I dont want to be a part of this drama.
